About West Milford
West Milford Township covers over 80 square miles of Passaic County, New Jersey. Two thirds of the area is protected state property. This area of the state is known as the Highlands. The township is so big it has 6 zip codes. There are over 40 lakes, the largest of which is Greenwood Lake. This lake is 9 miles long. There is boating and fishing and there are lakeside restaurants with docks. Route 23 runs through part of it. There are 6 elementary schools, 1 middle school and one high school. There are two new major condo complexes recently built. The rest of the town has mostly modest to upscale one family homes and houses for rent.
